I’m over the moon to have Aftab Ahmed, canine behaviourist and trainer hosting a mini seminar here in Blandford, Dorset next month.
On the Saturday 8th October 1pm at Hambro Hall, Winterborne Stickland, he’ll host a 3.5hr seminar.
The mini seminar is open to all dog owners with an interest in canine behaviour and positive reward training techniques. Staying ahead of the game with understanding your dogs psychology is key to a happy and rewarding life long relationship.
Aftab is is a qualified dog behaviour consultant and dog trainer and accredited by several recognised organisations including, the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT), the International School of Canine Psychology & Behaviour (ISCP), the Guild of Dog Trainers (GoDT) and the Dog Training College (DTC).
In addition to helping owners with troublesome dog behaviours across England, general dog training and puppy training, Aftab delivers regular dog behaviour seminars both in England and abroad. Having earlier this year presenting a seminar in Malta, he is now due to speak at the UK’s 2-day national conference on 12th November alongside other esteemed names such as Dr Susan G Friedman, Michael Shikashio, Dr Amber Batson and many others….
This seminar coincides with our latest litter being almost ready to join their new forever families and homes, so a handy refresher course, along with the chance of taking things to the next level. Hopefully we will see other ridgeback owners attend along with all other breed owners being welcome.

I’m hoping this will prove popular and that we can do this again in the future.
Aftab will cover such things as:
- Major factors that cause problems for dogs.
- Practical guidance on how to help your dog using positive reinforcement, how best to introduce your dog to a new baby/new puppy/new cat and, how to speak and understand dog language.
- Tried and tested reward-based strategies on how to change your dog’s behaviours to help them live with you in harmony.
- An explanation on why using force, intimidation and punishment-based training methods are ineffective in the long term and, can be counter-productive.
Full Q & A session to be taken at the end to address any specific issues you may have with your canine companion(s).
