Being a new website of a Rhodesian Ridgeback Breeder I think its only right that we do a little bit of scene setting as way of an introduction. From my first meeting with a Rhodesian Ridgeback I have always been bowled over by the temperament and cool calm & collected nature of the breed. My first meeting, I remember the time and the place, a traditional village pub in Kent where the owner walked in with his dog and the animla just walk in c,c,c and took its place underneath one of the bar tables. I knew nothing about the breed, I was purely impressed with the first impressions, a handsome dog with a fair size and muscular frame. Quiet and unassuming, it took its place and remained loyal and contented by it’s owners side.
Over the subsequent years I obviously saw many other fine Rhodesian Ridgebacks and discovered more in my understanding about the breed. Some 12 years later I finally had a lifestyle suited to being an owner of such a fine breed of dog, and boy was the wait worth it.
We bought our first bitch Nala back in 2006 from Jackie Ellis of Zejak Rhodesian Ridgeback’s. She is now approaching 6 years old and here she is along with the Sire of her first litter, Boris. Boris is another Zejak dog and they were mated back in May of 2010.
Lovely to find a Ridgeback blog! Looking forward to checking in again in the future. 🙂
